I'd be at Disneyland.

Yes - I know it's expensive, it's crowded, lines can be

unbelievably long but WHO CARES???

It's DISNEYLAND -

the Happiest Place on Earth....

and we love it.

And the wisdom of Disney always gives my creative soul a lot to inspire my writing.

SO.......

I'm humming now................

"I know you, I walked with you,

Once upon a dream........hummmm"

Above all else, Disneyland makes me smile.

It's On My Bucket List!!!

Lighthouse

NATIONAL LIGHTHOUSE DAY

A BIG Bucket List item for me is to visit 

every possible lighthouse.

Why ???

I love them.

I love everything about them.

They romanticize my love of the ocean and

feed my passion to be always near the water. 

 August 7th is National Lighthouse Day which 

honors and commemorates a beacon of light

that symbolizes safety and security for boats at sea.

The first light house in the U.S. was Boston Light on

Little Brewster Island in Massachusetts, built in 1716. 

It had to be reconstructed in 1783 after being damaged 

in the Revolutionary War.

Isn't it beautiful????

The oldest lighthouse as it was originally built is

the Sandy Hook Lighthouse in New Jersey

dating back to 1764.

Both of these landmarks are still in use,

and the Boston Light is the only light station

that still has an official Coast Guard keeper.

So gorgeous.

I fist fell in love with Lighthouses as a child when I

visited this lighthouse in Cape May, New Jersey.

I was hooked from that time on.

And that visit to New Jersey marked the time 

I officially fell in love with the ocean too.

Jim and I haven't seen every lighthouse YET....

but we're working on it!!!

Here are some we have visited......

Roanoke, Virginia.

And the next three are all located in one

of the most BEAUTIFUL places we have ever visited -

THE OUTER BANKS 

of North Carolina !!!

One of our dream destination spots!!!

I don't know but I sure hope Jim and I 

can visit all of them.......

gotta keep crossing items off 

that Bucket List !!!

More confessions...........

I just watched the movie from 2007

"The Bucket List".

Yes, I'm a little behind on my movie watching'.

You've probably all seen it so this is nothing new to you

but I LOVED it.....for many reasons.

It definitely made me think.

It's making me reconsider my own 'bucket list'. 

Reconsidering what's REALLY important to me.

Remember this line............

"Have you found joy in your life? 

Has your life brought joy to others?"

I'm pondering that

and

while I'm pondering,

let me share something that brought me joy tonight.

I am.

Modest Aspirations

Not everything on my bucket list has to be

so far out of reach.

Some times I like instant gratification.

With that in mind, 

Jim and I have decided to try to eat at

EVERY RESTAURANT IN CHICO !!!

Of course, this really isn't as easy as you might think -

because new places constantly open while others will close

before we even get a chance to

darken their door.

However, we are up for the challenge and

you'll be forced to read about it here.

Pomegranate Martini and a Bellini

Summer Salad

Fuji Apple Salad

Eggplant Parmigiana

and Linguini with Clams

We had a wonderful waitress, Jordan -

and plenty of ambiance......

That's "CRUSH"

You should give it a try.  

We can cross one restaurant off our list !!

Confessions

OK........I confess.

I am no more an accomplished pianist today than I 

was a week ago.

The neighbors have not had to throw things or beg me to 

stop the racket.  

I never really got the racket started

BUT

I intend to.

I have the best intentions.

Next weeks report will be a glowing one - I promise

(I hope I don't regret saying that)

Moving right along............

another item on my Bucket List is........(drum roll)

Yes - I want to go to a Super Bowl.

And, not to be picky, it's gotta be a Super Bowl in some nice warm locale.

I not going to sit in a freezing cold blizzard somewhere.

I grew up FREEZING at football games and

those tickets were free !!

If I have to spend my life savings for Jim and I to get there,

then it's gonna be warm.

OK

Enough about ME

(not really - the next post will be all about me again)

Elephants!!!!

Yes, here it is............the elephant in the room.

Or as I currently see it.....................same thing.

I've wanted a piano all my life.  The wonderful Jim surprised me one day with - not JUST a piano - but a baby-grand piano.  Hey, if you're gonna have a piano, it might as well be GRAND !!!  Right??? Let's discuss please !!!

BUCKET LIST

1. Learn to Play Piano.................apologize in advance to neighbors !!  Hey, a girl's got to practice, right??  I'll get back to you on my progress - however, we do have a noise ordinance here so wish me luck.
